Greetings , thanks for stopping by. My name is Mark and I have been playing guitar as a hobby since I was 14. Never had any claims to fame but I do enjoy it. I started working on my own guitars over a decade ago. I studied and learned all I could. And I got really good at it. So, I started to do some work for friends and learned that I was better than I thought. I always wanted to build my own guitar but never made the leap from repair and maintenance to building until one amazing day…. I get home from work and my beautiful girlfriend (now beautiful wife) tells me to have a seat on the sofa.. You can imagine where my mind was going. She goes upstairs and comes back down with this box in her hands and sat it on the table in front of me, and what a wonderful gift. my first guitar kit!

And that is how it all began. And of course the first one is named after her, Andrea.

Since that wonderful day, I continued to do repairs, maintenance and setups. As well as, built several more from kits. I began to get disappointed in the quality of some of the kits. I was at the point where I would completely assemble the guitar before even putting a piece of sandpaper to the wood. Because I knew I would have to make changes before finishing the wood. So I  decided to start building from scratch. I am able to pick and choose the woods and hardware for each one individually. I know the parts and pieces will all come together as planned.

And now we come to the point of all this…

That is how Fat Cat Fret Works was born.
